Welcome to Light Notes! We are a group of academic scientists and industrial experts researching light related phenomena. Two is a group, right? Yet, we have a combined experience of more than 25 years covering the entire research and development cycle of novel optical, photonic, and opto-electronic devices. In this blog, we are going to write about latest news and share our expertise in the field.
Some of the topics we are going to cover:
2D materials toolkit. Key fabrication and characterisation techniques used in atomically thin materials research – everything you need to know to start working with graphene, transition metal dichalcogenides, and other 2D materials.
ECR boot camp. Things we wish we knew when we started our research careers. Research data management, manuscript and figure preparation, and so much more. Tips and tricks to make your PhD a more enjoyable experience!
Project management. Deep-tech projects are challenging and require a tailored management approach. We will write about our experience and will share proven practices. Supporting software tools will be also presented and discussed.
Is it applicable? Review of the latest research papers from the industrial point of view. We will discuss if particular research results could be used to innovate existing devices or manufacturing processes and will consider commercialisation barriers.
